Gus's Story

Gus was rescued from a kill pen in June of 2021, and he is definitely a character, but in a good way. In general, Gus has a kind and calm disposition and is easy to catch. Gus loves being groomed and hanging out with people. He is not one of the most dominant horses in the herd, but is certainly not lowest in the pecking order. Gus will load in a trailer, pick up his feet, tolerates baths, and would make a fantastic prospect as a show or barrel horse as he is flashy, stocky, and smart. At this time, we would not recommend Gus for beginners as he still has a significant amount of learning to do; however, he is eager, willing, and would make an easy project for someone with knowledge.
